5 Female Radio DJs to follow in 2020
Updated: Feb 25, 2020

Having to juggle their job and other commitments like their businesses, projects etc, these female radio deejays tick all the boxes when we think of #GirlPower.

Maddy Barber
A co-host in the breakfast programme on Kiss92 Singapore, Maddy is also the founder of Madly, a jewellery brand which over the years has been featured on The New York Times, Her World, The Singapore’s Women’s Weekly and British Vogue. On top of that, Madly is ranked one 2of the top ten best Singaporean jewellers on Singapore Tatler. Being a mother of two, an entrepreneur and also a radio DJ is a definite accomplishment and we think that you should totally check her page out, or even better tune in to Kiss92 on weekdays from 6–10 am for her morning programmes :)

Sonia Chew
If you’re in need of a companion in the evening, take note that Sonia hosts The Shock Circuit for 987FM on weekdays from 4–8pm. And if you’re looking for a cool location to hang out, head down to Izy Fook. Founded by Sonia Chew, Izy Fook is a restaurant-bar set up with the aim of giving life to Singapore’s hawker culture. It serves drinks of all sorts, and therefore is a must-go for a pleasurable night out. Sonia is all about fun and this is clearly demonstrated as she brings people together in both her radio show and restaurant. I hope you’re persuaded enough to not only give Izy Fook a visit but also tune in to The Shock Circuit :)

Cheryl Miles
A foodie, a voice over talent, a radio deejay, and a recording artiste, means that Cheryl can spark engaging conversations due to the myriad of activities she partakes in. She was a former member of the now disbanded girl band called CCCrush, thus her voice is 100% angelic. On top of that, Cheryl is a blogger who writes articles related to health and fitness, food, recipes and other interesting lifestyle related concerns. This June, Cheryl will be launching her first ever cookbook where she will be sharing her collection of appetising and healthy recipes. Find her on ONE FM 91.3 on weekdays from 1–4pm and on Saturdays from 6–10am. :)

Charmaine Yee
You’ll love Charmaine especially if you have an interest in films, music or basically the superstars of Hollywood. Charmaine has interviewed the singer behind Thinking Out Loud, Ed Sheeran. Also, who hasn’t heard of Emma Stone, who appeared in one of the highest ranked films, The Help? The very handsome and charming Cristiano Ronaldo has got to be in the top list of most popular people she has interviewed. Besides hanging out with celebrities, Charmaine is a fitness freak who participates in high-intensity interval training (HIIT), Muay Thai inspired HIIT, and personal training. She DJs Weekdays with Charmaine Yee on Kiss92 from 1–4pm ;)

Carol Smith
Carol hosts for The Drive Home with Carol & Tim from 4–8pm. With over twenty years of experience in live hosting and radio, Carol is charismatic and the person you’d want to entertain yourself with in the few hours you have. She participates in the Free to Be project which she formed herself. Its aim is to help empower women of all age groups by providing beneficial workshops, camps and seminars. She puts her voice to good use as she stands up for the less privileged. What’s more sexy than a superwoman who advocates for equality and change for her very own kind?
